Administrative and Finance Director of ALADI (Latin American Integration Association) 1979-1989); Advisor of Foreign Trade of the Chamber of Industry of Uruguay; Member of the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Uruguay; Arbitrator for the Solution of Controversies among MERCOSUR member States; Vice-president of the United Nations General Assembly (1993); Senator (1990-1995, 2005-2010), Minister of Foreign Affairs (1993/1995), Chairman of the GATT Trade Negotiations Committee (Uruguay Round – 1993/1994), Minister of Energy and Mining (2000-2002). Currently he is Senator for the Partido Nacional (2010-2015).

Since 1975 he has worked as Advisor and Political Leader in different Organization of the Public Administration, focusing on Administrative Law and Foreign Trade.

Private practice attorney since 1995, specialized in Business Law and Foreign Trade.

He was Technical Advisor of the National Administration of Foreign Trade (1974-1976); Technical Advisor of the Ministry of Economics and Finance (1977-1989); Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery (1990-1991); Advisor of the Board of Directors of ANTEL (1994-1997); elected Senator, substitute member of Congress 1990-1994; Member of the Commission of International Affairs of the Chamber of Senators; Representative and Advisor of the Uruguayan delegations for multiple commercial negotiations: Protocol of Commercial Expansion (Brazil); Uruguayan-Argentine Agreement on Economic Cooperation; GATT- Uruguay Round; Cairns Group; MERCOSUR; World Trade Organization.

He is member of the Uruguayan Bar Association; National Institute of Tax Studies and he was advisor to the Uruguayan-US Cultural Alliance (1987-1996).

Dr. CLAUDIO CAÑETTE

Doctor in Law and Social Sciences, School of Law of the Catholic University of Uruguay "Damaso Antonio Larranaga" (UCUDAL), (1997).

He was assistant professor of Civil and Contract Law from 1998 to 2002. He has specialized in Human rights and participated on behalf of UCUDAL in the II International Contest of Human Rights at American University, in Washington DC.

He collaborated in the publication of the book "Compulsory Means for Performance of Contracts", written by Dr. Gustavo Ordoqui.

Dra. MARIA CASSARINO

Degree in Law (School of Law and Social Sciences of the University of the Republic of Uruguay, 1983-1989) and graduated from the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay (1987-1990).

She was member of the Uruguayan Foreign Service from 1987 to 1999, where she served at the Direction of International Organisations, the Permanent Mission of Uruguay in Geneva, and the General Direction for Integration and Mercosur issues. As a member of the Uruguayan negotiating team during the Uruguay Round, she had specific responsibilities on institutional-legal issues. In such capacity, she was the negotiator for Uruguay of the WTO Dispute Settlement Understanding and other institutional issues, including the agreement that established the WTO.

From June 1996 to February 1999 she was Consultant and Project Official of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Organisation for Migration, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Responsibilities included the design and development of technical co-operation projects for Mercosur countries, on the area of Integration and Migration.

In March, 1999, she returned to her post in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uruguay, and joined the General Direction for Integration and Mercosur, responsible for Mercosur negotiations.

From 2003 she is Executive Secretary of the Uruguayan Council for International Relations (CURI).

In 2004 she joined Abreu, Abreu & Ferrés.

Lic. JIMENA BALDOMIR

Licensee in Business Management, Catholic University of Uruguay "Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga" (UCUDAL), (1996); Post- Graduation in Financials, University of the Republic of Uruguay (2004); International Economic Fundamentals Post-Graduation Course, Fundaçao Getúlio Vargas Brazil (2008).

From 2003 on she worked as an independent advisor in Business Valuation; Mergers and Acquisitions, Indebtedness Optimization, Financial Planning, Design; Analysis and Support at Execution of Investment Projects, Negotiation with major clients or suppliers with relevant impact on company's economic situation and Private Banking Advisor to individuals.

From 1996 until 2003 she worked at the financial industry in Uruguay, working for some of the most important banks reaching noteworthy managerial positions.
 
In 2006 she taught Financials at the Catholic University of Uruguay "Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga" (UCUDAL).

She joined Abreu, Abreu & Ferrés in early 2009 as Business Partner.
